Messi is happy to get involved and has said in the promotional video produced by COP28 during the latest United Nations Climate Change conference being held in the UAE – with the Argentine superstar pictured holding what initially appears to be a Golden Ball: “What I have in my hands, it’s something very precious. It’s pure gold. There’s just one. With effort and a sense of community we can take care of it. Join efforts for JOIN THE PLANET, so with this play, together we can change the planet.”
COP28 are looking for the global population to unite behind a “let’s work together to save the planet for future generations” message, with Messi now fully on board. He is a man that has grown accustomed to winning down the years, and will be hoping that another triumph can be added to his CV away from the pitch.
